Training Packages: We work from a great facility outside of Buellton, CA, where your horse will receive quality care, and have the opportunity to train on 2,000 acres of trails as well as in the arena and round pen. Specializing in problem-solving and endurance training. Click on "Facility" for more details.
Riding Lessons: Would you like to improve your relationship with your horse? Would you like to increase your confidence in the saddle, and on the trail? Riding lessons available for all levels and ages, western or English, focusing on natural horsemanship techniques. Certified therapeutic riding instructor and CPR/first aid.
Colt Starting: We've started dozens of horses under saddle, including mustangs and race horses. Give your horse the benefit of a positive start, or safely get miles and experience on a young horse.
Tune-Ups: Do you have a horse that's been out to pasture for a while, that you'd like to ride again or sell? Send him here for a month or two to get back into shape and work out the kinks .

Our goal is to create a mutually rewarding partnership between horse and human. Building a horse's trust, confidence, and respect are the foundation for this partnership, which results in a horse that is relaxed, willing and well-mannered for the rider. These fundamental building blocks form the core of all our training, regardless of breed or discipline.
What makes our approach to training innovative is that we draw from a uniquely wide background in horsemanship and creatively apply techniques depending on the horse's individual personality, circumstances, and owner's goals. Our techniques have been learned firsthand working with wild mustangs, packing horses in the wilderness, performing in a circus, working with people with disabilites in therapeutic horseback riding, starting colts and race horses, classical training in hunter/jumper and dressage, and a passion for all things equine.
Our approach is holistic, yet practical. We begin with a physical and mental evaluation of the horse, to assess it's condition, history and personality. Especially with problem solving, we consider what the horse is being fed, the tack being used, the sort of tasks being asked of the horse, the type of handling the horse receives, and other factors.
Our training process proceeds in a step by step fashion; adjusting techniques as needed, and building steadily upon each step forward. We take special care to end sessions on a positive note. We prefer to work closely with owners and riders to ensure that the benefits of training continue to enhance the partnership with their horse.
Rouven Krauer is a Swiss native trained from childhood in jumping, dressage, and vaulting. He has wrangled pack horses for the Swiss militlary and is a certified therapeutic riding instructor for disabled children and adults. He has worked as a featured equine act in a European circus, started race horses, and trained mustangs. Rouven credits mustangs in particular with teaching him how to read and honor each horse’s personality.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding enables children and adults with physical and mental disabilities to strengthen their bodies, minds and spirits. The popular misconception is that therapeutic centers just use old run-down horses to give pony rides to people with disabilities. However, the horses that do this very special work have a very demanding job, and are required to be sound, calm, flexible, and willing. They must be able to deal reliably with a variety of riders with different levels of ability, as well as an ever-changing roster of volunteers with varying levels of experience. One day they may be needed to help a wheelchair bound rider strengthen and tone core muscles by steadily walking in circles or through an obstacle course while working with a leader and sidewalkers; another day the same horse might be depended on to gently take an independent developmentally disabled rider into their first exhilarating canter.
But finding horses that meet these qualifications can be a real challenge for therapeutic riding centers, which typically operate on limited budgets with staff already stretched to their limits.

Kenos Riverdance x Quincysquasarquest
RiverDance is a flashy palomino paint gelding that will get you noticed wherever you take him! Double registered with the American Paint Horse Association and the Pinto Horse Association of America, his bloodlines include Quincy Bar Bonanza and Red Sonny Dee.
"River" is a proven trail horse with plenty of miles under the saddle. He's also done some gymkhana, western pleasure and team sorting.
